What types of data can we connect to elvex?
Answer
elvex connects to the data your teams actually work with — documents, databases, web content, and the SaaS tools your organization already runs on.
Most enterprise AI platforms treat data connectivity as a secondary feature. elvex treats it as the foundation. An AI agent is only as useful as the information it can access — and for enterprise teams, that information lives across dozens of systems, formats, and locations.
What you can connect:
Files and documents
- Uploaded files (PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, text, and more)
- Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, SharePoint — synced and indexed so agents always work from current versions
- Coda documents and wikis
Databases
- Direct SQL database connections (PostgreSQL, MySQL, BigQuery, Redshift, SQL Server, and others) for agents that need to query structured internal data
- Read-only access by default — agents retrieve data without the ability to modify source records
Web content
- Crawled and indexed website collections — useful for agents that need to reference public-facing documentation, product pages, or competitive information
- Specific URLs or full domain crawls, configurable by scope
Enterprise integrations
- CRM platforms: Salesforce, HubSpot
- Productivity and collaboration: Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Notion, Confluence, Coda
- Communication: Slack, Microsoft Teams
- Project management: Asana, Jira, Monday.com
- And others across the elvex integration library
Custom and proprietary systems
For data sources not covered by native integrations — internal APIs, legacy systems, or purpose-built databases — elvex's Custom API and MCP (Model Context Protocol) support allow engineering teams to build bespoke connections.
How data governance works across all sources:
Connecting a data source to elvex doesn't mean every user can access everything. Admins control which data sources are available to which teams, workspaces, and agents. Sensitive data sources can be restricted to specific roles. Every data access event is logged in the audit trail.
Your data is never used to train AI models. What you connect to elvex stays in your environment — it's used to answer queries and inform agent outputs, not to improve model performance for other organizations.
